If you have a business and are looking to create a strong online presence, here are 5 things that you can do:
1) Have a GOOD Website
You may think this is super obvious to most people, but it isn’t. The number of companies that I come across that don’t have a website is staggering.
Now, notice that I said GOOD website. Your website needs to be nice and clean, fast, and full of relevant information.
Do yourself a favor and hire a designer to make your website. Don’t trust those “free” themes or site makers. They will severely limit what you can do, among other things.
2) Use Social Media
I’ve said this before, but if you aren’t on ALL of the major social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Google+ at the VERY least), then you need to be.
One turnoff for having more than one for many people is that they don’t want to have to manage more than one. Lucky for us, there are management tools like Buffer and Hootsuite that lets you publish to multiple platforms at one time.
3) Start a Blog
A blog is a great way to get noticed online. You can add a lot of value by writing articles, giving tips on how to do things better, and express opinions that will strike up a conversation.
If you create well written and optimized blog posts and share them to your social media sites, there’s a great possibility that your followers will share it with their friends. Making it optimized with certain keywords will help you in SEO, which will allow you to rank higher in Google.
4) Make Infographics
People love images. In my experience, images and videos get shared more than anything else. Something that I like to do is create a blog post, and then create a small infographic based around that blog post (like in this post).
The best place to post inforgraphics is on a site like Pinterest.
5) Create YouTube Videos
As I said in #4, videos are among the most share content today. Take the time to create short videos that you think will be helpful in your industry. Even taking your blog posts and creating a video based on that will get traction.
